Account Sub Grid - Steps 1-3 - System Admin

Account Sub Grid Import – Step 1: Enter Template Information Differences

Import Method and Import Rule Differences

The key difference between Sub Grid imports and other imports is the ability to keep existing records and add new records and delete existing records and add new records. This feature lets you determine what you want to do with the data that already exists in your system. Both features function exactly as they say. The 'Keep Existing Records' and add new records will KEEP ALL records in the Sub Grid you are importing to and append any new records to the table. 'Delete Existing Records' and Add New Records will DELETE ALL records in the Sub Grid you are importing to and import any new records. There is no duplicate checking, and there is no way to simply update values already in the table.

Account Sub Grid – Step 2: Map Satuit Data Fields Differences

Match Record Identifier Differences

Unlike other imports, in Sub Grid imports your Import Method does not impact the Match Record Identifier. Whether you Keep existing records and add new records or Delete existing records and add new records you will be asked to map to the appropriate Account based on the Account Field selected in Satuit ID and the Source Data field selected in Source ID.

Account Sub Grid – Step 3: Add Unmapped Source Data Fields Differences

Unmapped Fields Differences

Importing into Sub Grids allows you the unique ability to map any unmapped fields into any Satuit CRM field that has yet to be mapped to. Next to each unmapped source field is a drop-down that will allow you to select any Satuit field that has yet to receive a mapping. This means that you CANNOT import more than one source field into any Satuit field.

Viewing Results of Your Import

Your import will be queued and you will be notified when it is completed. On completion of the import, click into My Reports/Outputs on the main toolbar to access the Exception Report.

Activities and Opportunities Import

Satuit users can import Activities and Opportunities records from a CSV file to Satuit. Historically, users either needed to input activity and opportunity information manually or engage our Professional Services to script the data into the system. With the new functionality, Certified Administrators can import or update records using the familiar structure of the tools provided to import Contact, Account, and Dealflow data. Like the other import tools, you can include multi-picker records in the import file and will receive an Exception Report with details of any issues. Also, when performing an Activities Import containing comments regarding the activity, users are advised to make sure there are not any line breaks within the comments.

Mailing and Events Import

In addition to importing contacts and activities, Satuit users can import mailing and events data, this will benefit users who have not integrated directly with Bronto, Dotmailer, MailChimp, or Act-On emailing software applications. This will enable users to use Satuit to import and track information from any third-party mailing service that can export key information such as e-mail deliveries, opens, forwards, and click-throughs into a CSV file.

Business Tool Import

We have further expanded on imports by adding the Business Import Tool. The Business Import Tool will complement our other import tools such as Contacts, Activities and Mailing and Events. This will enable users to seamlessly import a list of businesses/entities from a CSV file into Satuit as well as update businesses’/entities’ fields using the Bulk API.
